I have always thought that an opportunity was missed by the Edinburgh Council when HMS Edinburgh was put up for sale by the MoD. She was eventually sold for scrap, I felt she would have made a marvellous tourist attraction berthed at Leith to begin regeneration of the waterside with ships, rather than just empty open water.
Mind you the Edinburgh Council have never been renowned for their far sighted innovation so perhaps nothing new there really.
I also thought that as well Ron. I visited HMS Edinburgh on her last visit to Leith, may 2013!
