Leith Built Ships, Volume-IV out now

Pleased to be able to say that the fourth book in my series on the rich shipbuilding and maritime heritage of the Port of Leith, Edinburgh, Scotland is now available from all good bookstores and the usual book outlets.

Leith Built Ships

Volume IV

Robb Caledon

1965 to 1984

·       This volume concludes the commercial shipbuilding at Leith, the good times and bad

·       Many original photographs shown for the first time

·       With histories of some great ships, including the two largest and most powerful Ocean- going salvage tugs of the day

·       We follow the decline and attempts to keep open the last shipbuilder at Leith

·       Industrial unrest and strife as the building of ships continued from Robb Caledon and then back to Henry Robb

·       Eventual closure and the end of some 660 years of recorded shipbuilding at Leith

·       The future book “Leith Shipyards at War” will cover the years from 1939 to 1945.
