The MV Catanian was another order from the Ellerman Wilson group of companies; she was to be managed by the Papayanni Line.
Catanian was the second of two sister ships ordered the other being MV Malatian they were fore runners to the future “S” type ships to be built for the Ellerman Group at the Leith Shipyards of Henry Robb.
At a busy time for the shipyard with the order books full, these nice little ships that were built for the run from the U.K. to Portugal and the Mediterranean helped to keep the Henry Robb yard busy.
